And yes, I'm completely overlooking episode one and getting straight into episode two. Because going green and recycling challenges go hand in hand! Although I'm a little let down no one wanted to repeat Austin Scarlett's season one salad dress.... Speaking of, he was the guest judge.
Before I get into the episode lets do season overview predictionsFAVES:
Blayne:Though I don't see him going extremely far, and his hopes of making licious the new catch phrase are lofty, He's entertaining me for the time being. Especially love him attacking Stella on her love of "Letha". His tanning is a bit unsightly but tight deadlines and lack of time to tan will cure that!
Jerrel:
So far so good, and he's from my hometown. aww!
Korto:
I get Kara Saun vibes from her, and thus far have been most impressed with her versatility. I see her making final 3.
NOT SO FAVES:
Leanne:Eh. She's a little to up in the clouds for me, and too shy, timid, I'll never grow out of this awkward! Made all the more special by her peter pan dress. You can't make her grow up! I see many tears in her PR future.
Stella:
Freaks me out alot. It's like Wendy Pepper and Laura from season 3 got together and had an awkward biker daughter. A little bit trying to bring in Jeffery's flavor but she's no where near it. She's frustrated every time she's given a challenge out of her element (you know, all of them) Too bad the challenge isn't horses. I mean leather! See, she misunderstood the show concept just a tad.
Suede:I really hope that's a nickname or name change.. I can already hear the I was born to do this! My name is suuuuede!! And his runny looking blue hair dye bothers me. With blonde or light hair he could easily dye it well. Unless he did it himself. I'm guessing with halloween colorspray! He's on my annoying list currently.
The grass is always greener....As for the challenge!
I really do love the chaos that stirs up when the models are given free reign of anything. Told to get organic fabrics they go nuts! The second half of the challenge is to design a cocktail dress fitting your client (the models) wishes. So the chorus of "This isn't my design style" from the designers is that much more endearing!
Some of the safe designs. I personally think the peacock outfit was awesome!
Team Ugly Brown! As one contestant dubbed them. Leave it to the models to watch each other pick the same fabric. A fabric that shows flaws easily and doesn't fit to well either. Oh, I like that! Give me that one too! You know tha writters were kicking themselves for this slip up as well. It was probably the next recycled challenge in this exceedingly go green themed season. The dresses are pictured in order of score.1. Joe's dress= decent, safe from question/elimination
2. Leanne's = Peter pan complete with hat, bottom two
3. Weseley= Worst, and auf'd.
The winner of the challenge..was my least favorite dress. Weirdly enough Natalie portman loved it, and Tim Gunn only showed slightly above average concern for it. Designed by suede of course. Who else would think to turn breakfast into a dress?! nom nom.. It has that bacony feel to it. also applicable would be spagettis, pasta and gross meats
I also got an anatomy/bio class vibe. Locate the muscle kids!
I'd wear it too!
I suppose in the end, his win came down to the hand sewing, effort and risk he took. Which I can see. In a frighteningly meaty way, it's there. Now lets hope his blue spray doesn't run on the outfits.
To end this post here's a fun bravo slip up.
Look at that peace sign belt! I'm already swooning.
37 is the new 47. Stella's love of letha would top my list but you never know.
